Zaza…Zzzzzzzzzzz

What could have been a decent Nightlife for Zaza fizzles to old school weasel  DJ’s Chris Fiore and Zino…

Well it had to be coming right.   All the pieces were in place.

Here we have the typical scenario of a an old school experienced restaurant owner/manager open a potentially exciting new venue where dining and dancing return to route one.  Experienced but no clue about how this concept could potentially draw on a deeper and more exciting demographic…Shocking!

Combined with the  customary old school way drama and politics always get in the way of a good time.

OUCH that hurts.

Once again the dregs of the Route One Saugus / Malden DJ world Chris Fiore and Zino come in for the kill.     Hey we will work for free – wait til you see what we can do here…we’ll pack this place!

Yeah yeah we know the first week and the second week may look okay…we in the know realize what happens after that.

They couldn’t get the smarter ownership at Orchid to bite at the precious opportunity with their claims of an overloaded parking lot forcing them to look for a new home and wanting a paltry $600 to bring their immense crowd with them; so they brought the deal – less the $600 down the street to Zaza – what’s up with that?  Is that the Zaza Economic Stimulus package – what a slap to Orchid.  By the way guys how are all of these people  going to all fit into Zaza?

Nice obvious and disrespectful Zaza eye spy on Friday night  by Chris going in to ask the DJ  ” Who owns this DJ equipment?”  OUCH ….followed by a visit from some of the DJ’s friends who left your lame party down the street only to tell the DJ  ” hey we heard you got fired” . This can get a whole lot worse for Chris  – his history is all a matter of public record and is VERY relevant to ROUTE ONE SAUGUS NEWS….that was a Saugus Parking Lot right??

So Yes Please Remember to bring your mobile gear as the equipment there never was paid for and  imagine some of it may be leaving the building sooner than later.

Much respect to Captain Wendell for not participating.

What makes this situation even worse is the cold and callous management at Zaza; which of course compliment the inexcusable demeaning and degrading owner who oversees this  hang out.  Yes the owner does find  it empowering to blast employees in front of customers for little cause – nice guy.

Thank goodness for the food.  The food is incredible!  Nightlife?  Well if your looking for a vibrant, upbeat, new place to spend your money…keep looking.  If you want a 70’s retro experience then its great for that.  Customers are not allowed requests that veer into anything past 1980 give or take a few years.  Lot’s of fun …well until the room killer duo got involved.  The track record of the DJ Chris Fiore and Zinno party train ( is that song too new for Zaza?) is anything but consistent past say WOW 1985 give or take a few years.  Even people that book functions at Zaza are not given the opportunity to request a song; now that’s some great customer service.  Here’s a tip;  tell the event coordinator ( jeesh thems some fancy words huh) to tell the customer booking the party that its all 70’s all the time except Sunday instead of surprising them with your innovative programming so they leave after a drink to find “nightlife” eleswhere.

The ownership is in charge of programming….well the ownership and his disco loving band of regulars.

Prediction here is that Zaza will end up with the same Bar Crowd that Orzo had;  The owners friends,  while the rest of us still look for a place where an over 30 crowd isn’t forced to relive  Prom days from yesteryear EVERY NIGHT!

Excuse us;  let’s not forget that Zaza is offering a Gay Night every Sunday with DJ Adilson of Roxy fame who spins every Saturday Night at Orchid….
